Home based business opportunities are not for everyone

Millions of people dream of starting their own home based business. With the increased use of the internet, there are now more home based business opportunities than ever before. As long as one has a decent computer and a half-reliable internet connection, a world of moneymaking opportunities will open for even the dullest of people.

This is not to say that the home based business opportunities that the internet offers are for everyone. After all, not everyone is temperamentally qualified for this sort of business. Not everyone has the discipline and the emotional fortitude that is needed when it comes to starting and running a business.

Most people make the mistake of thinking that the internet is some sort of cash machine. In fact, most internet business promoters try consciously to promote this image. Many of these promoters advertise their “success-making secrets” in rather outlandish ways. If you, in fact, spend half an hour reading such ads, you will find that they all promise you easy money and quick success. Which begs the question: Why the hell do they need your money then, if they’ve perfected a system that makes them more than enough?

The preceding paragraph makes one thing clear: The internet is not some sort of magic moneymaking technology. Business is business: One can only make money by offering a product or service that people want and need, and at an attractive price. No matter how attractive the home based business opportunities that are available to you, it would be well for you to remember this fundamental fact.

Should You Take Advantage of a Home Based Business Opportunity?

If you have read this article to this point, then it probably means that you are truly interested in taking advantage of a home based business opportunity, or perhaps several home based business opportunities. The question in your mind now is, “Should I take the plunge?” If you are asking this question, you already probably already have a stable job and are earning a set amount of money. Otherwise the choice would be easy – some money is better than no money, after all.

Of course, even if you are earning a set amount of money, it does not necessarily mean that it is enough for you, on many levels. A job (and its accompanying salary) sometimes cannot provide for even a person’s basic needs. Many people have experienced having to work two jobs to try and make things meet. However, a job can also produce effects that most people find undesirable. Think about the outdoorsman who is stuck in the office the whole day, or the sensitive person who is exposed to office politics, or the ambitious man stuck in a dead-end job. The fact is that a job, no matter how good, will never meet all your needs. That’s because a job is not primarily designed to meet your needs, but to meet the needs of your employer.

So, if you have a home based business opportunity that has a good chance of providing you what you really want in life, go for it! You may find that it is the best risk that you will ever take – and the most rewarding.

Top 10 innovative web 2.0 applications of 2005

:
As 2005 draws to a close, I am overwhelmed by the amount of Web 2.0 startups that this year brought. There were no doubt hundreds or perhaps thousands of new services that came about following on the trend of "Web 2.0". Developers are beginning to create apps that are truly useful. Characteristics include more user interaction, far more efficient use of technologies such as AJAX, and slick design.

2005 also brought many "me too" companies. It seemed like every other Web 2.0 application was "The Best Social Bookmarking Site" or "The Best Startpage Site" or "Another Boring To-Do List site". My only hope is that this nonsense ends a quick death by the end of this month. I am optimistic that 2006 is the year of "Web 2.0 Innovation". It is the next logical step...and I anticipate it with great enthusiasm.

There have been quite a few "top web 2.0 companies of 2005" lists made in the past couple of weeks and I was sick of seeing the same high profile sites over and over again. Here are my picks for Innovative Web 2.0 companies.

To all developers: Your new years resolution should be to innovate, not immitate...we are counting on you!

1. TravBuddy - I like TravBuddy because it allows users to create journals of their journeys. The application mashes up with Google Maps and has some very cool AJAX features. This is a very cool way to discover and research destinations. Out of all the Web 2.0 apps from 2005 I am most excited about Trav Buddy growing and becoming a huge success. I love to travel and I love to research travel destinations. I'm tired of reading snippets from real people rating a hotel and even more tired of reading "about" sections on city websites, hotel pages, etc. This has huge potential.

2. Rollyo - Plain and simple, Rollyo allows you to create a search engine based on any criteria that you see fit. From digital cameras to triathletes, Rollyo is one cool way to gather information. The site is designed well and super easy to use. Great application!

3. TagCloud - Tag cloud is cool because it is loosely based on social bookmarking...and I do mean loosely. I like this site because you can through RSS feeds into it and it will automatically parse keywords and create massive "Tag Clouds". This is a very innovative way to keep track of news, blogs, etc. that you have in your feed reader.

4. Digg - Viva La Democratic media! Digg was one of this years smash successes, and rightly so. Users submit stories, users "digg" these stories, popular stories go to the homepage, lame stories turn to dust. Digg is the first site I go to every morning to find out whats new in tech. Rumor has it that Digg will be branching away from tech soon, and as long as they do it in a way that doesn't offend the techies...I can't wait to read politics. digg. com, and money. digg. com, and bizarre. digg. com.

5. Yahoo Answers - Yahoo has been on a Web 2.0 rampage the past couple of weeks. One property that came out of this is Yahoo Anwers. The site allows you to simply ask a question. Then, the community answers you and users can vote which answer is best. This is one of those apps that might depress you for not thinking of it first. Want to know how to tie a fancy knot? Just ask and in a short time users will tell you! Brilliant!

6. NetWorthIQ - Wanna know how filthy rich you aren't? NetWorthIQ allows you to enter in your debts, assets, cash, etc. and track your net worth over time. The site is easy to use and you can even compare yourself to other people your age, location, education level, etc. The graphs are pretty and the site really sets itself apart from the Web 2.0 pack.

7. SideJobTrack - Here is a beautiful project management application which, at first glance, seems to be a site in a very a crowded space. It is not! SideJobTrack sets itself apart by catering to more of an offline enviornment. There are tons of useful features such as invoicing, estimates, reports, and of course all the general project management features that all the other applications in this stuffy space have. Two thumbs up for this company going a step above to really carve out a niche.

8. gChart - gChart is a very cool idea based on the Google Maps API. You click anywhere on the map and it tells you the time zone and has a live clock. Who said Web 2.0 had to be fancy? This site proves that you can take a simple idea and create a very useful application. I love it!

9. MooFlex - I first got a glimpse of MooFlex a couple months back when they produced a video of the admin backend. MooFlex is a content management solution that has ajax galore. I give these guys two thumbs up for design and innovation in the content management arena. They are currently in private beta but there is an ultra cool demo on their site.

10. GiveMeaning - "GiveMeaning. com is a website for the $5 philanthropist." I like this site because it creates a community where people can help people. There are a lot of very cool opportunities to donate to causes that aren't stemmed from the big likes of Red Cross, etc. I found an organization that was collecting money and support to print brochures to educate the public about suicide. This is a very cool way to help out those in need and a very cool platform indeed.

There you have it folks. My Top 10 List of Innovative Web 2.0 Companies of 2005. Lets hope 2006 spawns a surge of innovation. I am excited about what is going on with internet business right now and I can't wait to see what the next step is.

Also, lets hope that 2006 spells the death of the social bookmark clones, to do list clones, calendar clones, startpage clones, etc. etc.

Keep your business popular. 4 tips how to do

Are the calls starting to dwindle after being in business a while? Do your workers have too much time on their hands? Then it is time to pump some new blood into the work place.

Use some imagination and make things start to happen again. Find here some tips to help you make that happen. Try them and see if they will help you with your business.

You might introduce a new product or service that expands the possibility for sales. When you make the new product/service a side product/service to your existing product/service it can increase sales for both items. But be careful that when you introduce the product/service, the old product/service doesn’t become obsolete. A side product/service to another product/service gives you the opportunity to contact with former customers to offer the new product/service. Checking out your competitors to see what additional items they offer can inspire new ideas for your products and services.

Offering gifts and discounts can increase sales. Everyone loves a bargain. Those gifts do not have to be expensive. Mailing coupons to entire neighbourhoods or cities, gets your business name and phone number in the hands of a number of people that you normally might not reach. Many years ago, companies offered free glasses and towels as incentives to buy a product. It caused a lot of repeat customers who tried to complete a set of glasses or towels. Discounts and sales are always crowd pleasers. Bargains are hard to find, thus making them drawing cards for businesses.

Advertising is an area in which changes will cause others to take notice of your business. You might want to consider using a mascot or new spokesperson for advertising. If you don’t want to go that far, just change the colours on the advertising. Millions of people tune in the Super Bowl each year just to watch the new advertisements. This is a good example of how change can draw business. Children and animals draw a lot of attention to advertising. Of course, there is always sex appeal to attract new customers.

Expanding your horizons can expand your business. Try expanding slowly at first. Start citywide or statewide. If that doesn’t work you can go global. The internet can help make this happen. Start a website and put it on several search engines. Offer other websites advertising on your website for advertising on their sites. Online access helps over come the delays of time zones. It also makes your company accessible 24 hours a day which is a good point. To streamline service, create a product specific website with regular updates, produce/service news, photos and scheduling information.

But no one knows for sure if a business is going to succeed or not. Using available tools gives the company an extra edge. For instant does that count for advertising or the internet. Change keeps the company from becoming stale and outdated. If you are not sure what and how to change your company, there are numerous sources available for you. Articles, websites, software and work shops are just some of these sources. You have started the business. Treat it like a baby, and put everything you have in it to make it succeed.

Pregnancy back pain

:
Appropriate Posture And Exercises Are The Best Remedy:

Pregnancy back pain in general and early pregnancy back pain in particular is a common complaint during pregnancy with more than 50% pregnant women suffering from it. Pregnant women are prone to backaches and back pain due to a number of reasons such as the extra weight of the baby or a change in the center of gravity of their body or due to hormonal changes in the early stages of pregnancy.

With the growth of the uterus, a women's center of gravity shifts forward. This gradually results in a change in the posture and movement style and may often lead to backache. Hormonal changes are a normal part of pregnancy and can cause the ligaments between our pelvic bones to often and our joints to loosen in preparation for the baby's passage through pelvis during birth. In some cases urinary infection can also result in Back pain amongst pregnant women. Severe back pain during pregnancy if accompanied by other symptoms during early pregnancy should not be ignored, as it may be a pointer to some major problem.

The most important remedy for curing pregnancy back pain is exercising. Walking, pelvic rock, bridging (on the floor with knees bent and lifting the buttocks into air), mini-crunches with bent knees and lifting the head on exhalation are good exercises for pregnant women and can go a
long way in relieving Back Pain.

The right posture and good body mechanics also play an important role in keeping one free of back

pain. Good posture is an effective remedy for pregnancy back pain during early pregnancy and one should avoid slouching. The use of a lumbar cushion or pillow can help one to avoid slouching and maintaining an appropriate posture. Back pain during pregnancy can also be reduced by appropriate muscular exercises.

A pregnant woman can avoid pregnancy back pain by avoiding standing for longer periods and frequently changing her sitting position. Adequate rest and sleep are also essential for avoiding or eliminating back pain in early pregnancy. A pregnant woman should wear low-heeled shoes with proper arch support to avoid strain on her back. The use of a low stool for resting feet while sitting or standing for long periods can also help in avoiding back pain.

How to transfer your golf swing from the range to the course

I just shake my head when watching "machine gun golfers." They mindlessly bang out buckets of balls believing they are creating muscle memory. Perfect practice sessions include complete pre shot and post shot routines. Hence, you should only be able to hit, at the most, two balls per minute.

Many golfers still mistakenly believe that if they regularly practice newfound skills they will automatically transfer onto the course. LEARNING HOW TO SWING AND LEARNING HOW TO PLAY ARE TWO SEPARATE PROCESSES.

If there is a weakness I see in most teaching pros, they don’t spend enough lesson time on the issue of transference from the range to the course. The fact is, a golf instructor wirth his salt will take their student onto the course where real learning takes place.

Granted, this is a fairly sophisticated psychological concept, but the issue has to be covered about the strategies and tactics of bringing one's game onto the course. Good teachers always address this issue at the end of each lesson.

Pretend certain range shots are like those specific ones you will encounter during a round. It is true, "If you want to play like you practice, then practice like you want to play." Spend time reflecting on this maxim.

Before a round of golf and you are on the range and you have warmed up, hit the club you would normally hit on the first hole. Visualize the first hole and how it looks while you are on the range...the fairway, any trees or bunkers. Then go through your pre shot as if you are on the course. Pick out a spot on the range where you want the ball to end up.

This programs your subconscious to get into “scoring mode” rather than mindlessly beating balls and thinking you are ready for the course. After you hit your first shot, imagine what your second shot would be and then hit that shot.

If it is a chip onto the green, do that. By the time you reach the first hole you will feel like you have already played it and you will feel more confident.

The club you use to hit the last ball on the range should be the club you will use on the first hole. This will keep the shot fresh in your mind as you head for the first tee.

I recommend having a few extra balls in case your “last shot” is not a good one...you want to end your practice on a good note...this will add volumes to your confidence on the first tee. This is so incredibly powerful in getting you off to a good start that I cannot emphasize it enough.

You see, your preparation for your golf round is crucial in getting your mind set for achieving your potential out on the course. Watch the pros practice before a tournament...they are constantly practicing shots they expect to see on the course.

So if you're the kind of person who wants to break free from mindlessly banging balls on the range and finally achieve great results on the golf course, this proven method will set your golf game free!

Hit 'em Long & Straight!

Vacuum cleaners which is the one for me

With so many choices available to us today, it is a wonder that we manage to get anything done. Where to do our grocery shopping, which brand of soda to choose – there are so many options that choosing the best one for you quickly become overwhelming. While trial and error is often a useful approach, there is an enormous budgetary difference between buying a drink flavor that doesn’t exactly appeal and purchasing a piece of household equipment that isn’t up to the task at hand. So how can you be sure to find the right vacuum cleaner for you?

While the primary concern for most of us when purchasing a vacuum cleaner is the ability with which it can perform the job, there are a number of other things to consider before making a decision. Choosing between one vacuum cleaner characteristic and another is largely down to personal preferences, so before you go on that shopping trip, here are a few question to ask yourself.

Do you have any special health needs or requirements?

Those with allergy or mobility issues should look carefully at the types of vacuum cleaner available before making a purchase. Speciality cleaners that employ allergen-reducing technology are recommended for those suffering with any type of allergy, while an upright cleaner is more manageable for those who find bending or lifting to be a chore. Even for those without mobility issues, it is a good idea to test-drive a cleaner before you buy, to help determine whether it is comfortable to use – ask in store to see if this is possible.

What kinds of surfaces to you wish to clean?

An upright cleaner is ideal for tackling those floors and carpets, but are impractical for use on many other surfaces, including curtains and upholstery. If you have different types of surface from which to eliminate dirt, then a lighter, more mobile model might be more suitable for you. If these types of surfaces are not an issue in your home, be sure to avoid paying extra to purchase a machine with all kinds of attachments that you will never use.

Do you have children or pets?

Noise can be a big issue in choosing the right vacuum cleaner for you, particularly if you have children or pets that might be startled or upset by a noisy machine. There are several models available with special insulation around the machine’s motor, so keep an eye out for these if noise is an issue for you.

Housework is not a job that many of us relish, but with the right tools, we are more likely to get the job done! Be sure to evaluate your own needs and circumstances before you make that shopping trip to ensure that you find the right vacuum cleaner for your home.

Spreading christmas costs with a personal loan

As the days grow shorter and the nights get colder, our thoughts might start turning towards festive matters. Christmas is coming, and while this should be a cause for excitement and anticipation of good family times, for many of us there's something less pleasurable on our minds at this time of year. The holiday season gets evermore expensive, and if money is already tight we might worry about how our finances will cope.

It's very common for people to use a credit card to cover the expenses of gifts, food, drinks and socialising, intending to pay off their indulgences in the New Year, but this kind of credit is fairly expensive - especially if your good intentions to repay early don't quite succeed and you end up carrying the debt for many months.

Another option is to make use of an overdraft facility at the bank, going 'into the red' over the holiday season. This is a convenient option, but it comes at a price - an overdraft is often expensive to maintain, with both a monthly fee and a percentage interest charge. This can make an overdraft almost expensive as a credit card.

There's also the danger that if you overdraw heavily on your account so that you're close to your limit, you're not leaving yourself much financial breathing space should an unexpected expense arrive in January. Besides that, once you've built up an overdraft it can be very hard to pull yourself back into the black, particularly if your normal budget leaves you with little spare cash each month.

So what's the solution to this? Are we doomed to a festive season of bread and water, alone and miserable? Well, maybe a personal loan could be the answer. Taking out a loan, if done thoughtfully and with a definite purpose in mind, can provide you with the funds you need to see you through the holidays without plunging you into penury for the rest of the year.

First of all, by shopping around you'll be able to take advantage of the intense competition between loan providers, and you should be able to get yourself credit at a much, much cheaper rate than that of a credit card or an overdraft. This means your monthly repayments can be smaller, or alternatively you can clear the debt much more quickly.

Secondly, a loan is usually arranged on a fixed rate basis, meaning that you'll know exactly how much you need to repay every month. This contrasts to the variable rates of credit cards and overdrafts, which can change from month to month, leaving you unsure in your budgetting.

Finally, a personal loan is most often repaid over a specified length of time, after which your debt has been cleared. With a credit card, it's tempting to just make the minimum repayments, which barely cover the interest charges, leaving the best part of your debt uncleared. This is a guaranteed way to enrich the card company while keeping the millstone of debt around your neck.

So is a personal loan the right solution for you? Credit should never be taken out without careful consideration of how it will affect your financial future, and it is of course better to live within your means if possible. However, if you decide that credit is the best way forward then a personal loan is often the cheapest and most effective option.

The benefits of an amino acid supplement in building a healthy fit body

Amino acid supplements are vital to bodybuilding. Amino acid is what makes up protein, and protein is what feeds muscles. Amino acids are ingested with the food that we eat. Unfortunately, we really don't get enough amino acids from those food sources when we are trying to build muscle.

Amino acids do more than just create and aid protein in the body. They also help the body to function properly. They are responsible for healthy muscles, hair, skin, nails, glands, and even healthy ligaments.

Some important amino acids in bodybuilding include arginine, acetyl L-Carnitine, Glutamine, Glutathione, and many others. Most of the amino acids that we get from food will come from meats and dairy products, such as milk, eggs, and cheese.

If the benefits of amino acid supplements in relation to bodybuilding aren't enough to convince you that you need those supplements, you might be interested to know that many non-bodybuilders take amino acid supplements as well.

Amino acid supplements have been proven to be helpful when it comes to Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, bronchitis, cancer, chronic fatigue, depression, diabetes, emphysema, epilepsy, hepatitis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, infertility, liver problems, osteoarthritis, Parkinson's disease, pain, rheumatoid arthritis, and so many other health concerns. Amino acid supplements are so beneficial that many doctors prescribe them to patients who are recovering from surgery or wounds.

When it comes to bodybuilding, you can be sure that serious bodybuilders are loading up on as much amino acid supplements as is safe. This is because they have educated themselves to the point where they understand the true benefits of amino acid supplements to their bodybuilding efforts.

When purchasing amino acid supplements, it is best to use caution, and to purchase supplements that cover a wide range of the amino acids that you require. Taking any one supplement in too high of a dosage can be detrimental to your health. Animal testing has shown that high dosages of certain amino acids can cause an altered mental state, a decrease in the immune system, and can even result in blindness. Unfortunately, high dosage tests such as these cannot be performed on humans, so we have no way of knowing how high dosages will affect humans.

With that said, however, there have never been any reported problems associated with the use of amino acid supplements among bodybuilder or non-bodybuilders. If you aren't sure how much you should take, set up an appointment with your doctor, and let him determine what the safe levels are for you.

Texas holdem player categories

A useful thought process or tool you should familiarize yourself with is placing opponents into categories, both for your current playing session as well as any future sessions against the same player. There are four broad categories of playing styles. By playing against an opponent and learning his or her tendencies, you can place them in a category and adjust your style when contesting a pot with them. I find that by putting names with categories it helps me remember how each opponent plays. Here is a list of different playing styles followed by a suggested name for each. Feel free to use your own names if they are easier for you to remember. One note of caution, just because a player has been included in one category in the past does not mean that he or she cannot be in a different one today. Players play differently at different times for many reasons. Some tight/aggressive players change to loose/aggressive when drinking while others will tighten up after a bad beat. Always take a little time to reevaluate players you have experience with to make sure they haven’t changed their style.

Tight/Aggressive – Being this type of player should be your goal. This player doesn’t play many hands, but when they do, they play very aggressively. The tight/aggressive player will often enter the pot with a raise and bet and raise until they win or are clearly beaten. Every time that a player bets or raises, it forces other players to make decisions and whenever a player must make a decision, he/she may make a mistake. The tight/aggressive player capitalizes on this by providing opportunities for his/her opponents to make these mistakes. The name I assign to these players is Solid. You must respect their bets and raises because they seldom enter a pot with a poor hand. Solid players maximize their intake with winning hands and minimize it with second best hands. When choosing a game, if I see too many solid players in it, I will usually find another game if one is available.

Loose/Aggressive – The loose/aggressive player plays too many hands, usually raises and is very hard to bluff. When playing against them it is important to keep your starting hand requirements tight so that you are often in the hand with better cards than them. Most loose/aggressive players are trying to play the correct way, which is tight/aggressive, but simply play too many hands. In the long run, loose/aggressive players tend to be losing players because they play too many hands. The name I assign to the loose/aggressive player is Semi-Maniac. A player that is at the very outer edge of loose/aggressive is the Maniac. The Maniac plays many hands and always raises if they are in a hand. If you find yourself against a maniac, just sit back and wait for your very best starting hands. The maniac will pay you a very high price when you do have a great hand so you can afford to pass up the marginal ones.

Tight/Weak – A tight/weak player has a solid understanding of starting hand requirements and follows them, but doesn’t play well after the flop. This player doesn’t raise to protect their best hands, which often lets drawing hands catch-up without paying a high price. A tight/weak player much prefers checking and calling to see what is coming next. The tight/weak player may show a small profit in games full of poor players because of the proper starting hand selection, but will be eaten alive by solid players. I call the tight/weak players Sandstone, in reference to a weak rock.

Loose/Weak – The loose/weak player plays too many hands, calls when he or she should raise or fold and almost always will pay you off on the river with second, third and often worse hands. I call these players Calling Stations. These are the players that many poker players call Fish. I know that the loose/weak player will always pay off my good hands and I often try to isolate him/her to take advantage of this.

Citas a ciegas

:

Those of you not familiar with the latest on credit report agencies now have at least a basic understanding. But there's more to come.

Whenever you apply for new credit card, loan or any form of credit from any sources lenders will base their acceptance or rejection of your application on your personal credit report. If your credit report shows you’ve been reliable in the past, then you will most likely get the credit card or loan you apply for. However, if you have in one way or the other defaulted on particular account or you were constantly late in making payments, it will likely be impossible for you to get the credit you applied for.

You can get a copy of this report from credit bureau because it’s your personal credit file and you have absolute right to know what is in it. You have right to know exact information they are giving out concerning your name and credit worthiness. If the report is not good enough or you can proof to yourself that it’s all about your past, you can change it. You can build your new credit worthiness. It’s possible.

As your knowledge about credit report agencies continues to grow, you will begin to see how credit report agencies fits into the overall scheme of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.

Understanding coral calcium

Calcium is an essential mineral and is required for human life. However talk about the benefits of coral calcium can be confusing and may make it difficult to put into context how we can benefit from appropriate levels of calcium in the diet, be it from food or from supplemental sources.

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body, and has several important functions. More than 99% of total body calcium is stored in the bones and teeth providing the necessary support to their structure. As a normal function of biology, the living cells of the body absorb new calcium to replace lost calcium or to build upon existing structure as in the case of childhood growth or in healing.

Coral calcium is a salt derived from fossilized coral reefs. The living coral reefs are endangered and most major reefs are protected by law as they cannot be harvested without severe damage to the ecosystem. Coral calcium is harvested by grinding up above-ground limestone deposits that were once part of a coral reef.

Coral calcium itself is composed primarily of calcium carbonate with small amounts of magnesium and other trace minerals. Chemically, calcium carbonate from coral sources is no different than from other sources of calcium, despite the claims otherwise by some companies. However, the addition of trace minerals, which may be deficient ones diet, could explain why some claim benefits of coral calcium over more refined sources of calcium supplements.

While the calcium component of coral calcium is identical to any other limestone deposit, fossilized coral reefs may contain trace minerals helpful to the human body. Though it's unlikely that a well-fed individual would be deficient in any of these minerals, clear dietary data shows that while the average American diet may be providing abundant levels of calories, salt, fat and preservatives, it is otherwise low in nutrition. Therefore, many people may benefit from a basic level of supplementation of all essential and necessary nutrients, including calcium.

There have been many unsubstantiated claims made regarding coral calcium, perhaps the most controversial of which is the suggestion that coral calcium cures cancer by increasing pH of the body. Scientific studies have been performed indicating that cancer cells cannot survive at sufficiently high pH levels. However, while this may be true when tested in a Petri Dish, the pH required to kill cancer cells also kills healthy human cells.

Another problem with the "body alkalinization" concept is that the body pH doesn't change, regardless of how much calcium carbonate is ingested. The human body can only function properly within a narrow pH range. It has been shown that if alkalinizing agents are ingested, the body promptly excretes the alkaline components in urine. Attempting to increase the pH of bodies only appears to succeed in raising the pH of the urine. The same applies if acidic foods are ingested in that the urine becomes more acidic.

Calcium itself is an essential mineral for human life, and coral calcium is an effective source of it, though by no means the only one. When researching any supplement, keep in mind that supplements are intended to improve nutrition. They are not designed to treat, cure or mitigate any disease. However, high quality supplements are an excellent way to supplement, but not substitute, the benefits of a good diet.

Vacuum cleaner how it works

Most of you may not understand if I told that a vacuum cleaner works on the principle of creating low pressure, lower than the atmospheric of 1.033Kgf/cm2, at the point of suction and the draft created in this way is sufficient to lift or elevate most domestic and industrial wastes and dirt. To confuse you more, I can tell you that, vacuum cleaners don’t produce real vacuum at all. To make things simple, like what the vacuum cleaner does for house or carpet cleaning, we will see, in very simple terms, how a vacuum cleaner works.

A Vacuum Cleaner Works With Simple Arrangements

A vacuum cleaner has nothing more than a simple fan, like the ones we see everywhere, but working in exactly the reverse way. Now, what does it mean, working reverse? Well, this fan is a bit special as it is constructed to suck air instead of blowing it away and is housed in an airtight chamber, still with two passages but only to admit and release air to atmosphere.

To make things further comprehensible, assume the fan is placed inside an odd shaped, big enough tube with one end connected to an easy-to-handle flexible hose with which the cleaner sucks the air and the opposite end, fitted with a mesh for safety, which is after the fan lets the air escape. Simple, isn’t it?

Then how and where does it catch the dirt and dust? There are filters made of special cloth or special filter papers (these papers can withstand the impact of high speed air and dirt). You just have to place the filters just before the fan in its protective housing and that’s it.

When you switch on the vacuum cleaner, it creates what engineers call as draft, which is plainly the suction power. The wire brush fixed at the end of your flexible hose, through which the dust enters the machine, scrubs & unsettles the clinging dusts from, say, your carpet and they are immediately picked up by the high speed air when to rush into the hose from allover. Air further passes into the dirt chamber where it gets filtered at the filter bag, which you can throw later, and passes out through its exit end. While exiting, it blows all over the fan motor thus keeping it cool as long as you work the vacuum cleaner.

Commercially Available Vacuum Cleaners

Vacuum cleaners come in various capacities, shapes, colors, accessories and for different purposes. Industrial vacuum cleaners can lift iron filings, small screws and nuts &bolts. While buying them, always go by reputation of the maker, warrantee, power consumption and service & spares availability factors.

Mercedes benz parts affordable easy to find

Owning a Mercedes vehicle puts you in with an elite category of owners who appreciate the engineering, quality, comfort, and fun-to-drivability that go with every “Benz” produced. With a history spanning well over one hundred years and a solid benchmark reputation to preserve, Mercedes continues to impress its loyal owners and attract interest from those who do not yet own a Mercedes.

Beyond ownership is the maintenance that is done to preserve your vehicle’s mojo. You know keeping your Mercedes well maintained can go a long way toward helping your car operate problem free as well as looking great. Trouble is, parts can get expensive...you’ll pay a premium if you have some garage or dealer do the work for you. Fortunately, you have some options – terrific ones at that – to find, procure, and install the high quality parts your Mercedes deserves without destroying your budget. Please keep reading for some helpful tips.

Owning a Mercedes is just like owning a piece of automotive history. It was back in the 1880s when two German craftsmen, Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz, began working on what became known as the first internal combustion engine. Soon thereafter the first “Daimler” vehicles were produced and were later renamed “Mercedes” due to legal conflicts with the Daimler name. Eventually, Daimler and rival automaker Benz merged to produce the Mercedes-Benz name that we know today. Yes, the parent company is now known as DaimlerChrysler but to Mercedes owners calling their cars a Mercedes-Benz is still common even though the Benz name isn’t typically ascribed to specific vehicles, especially in the U. S.

Beyond its history are the vehicles defining Mercedes, particularly those built in the last quarter of a century. In the important U. S. market, Mercedes has registered strong growth with new vehicle sales growth of more than 350% since 1993. An expanded product line and a desire by motorists to own and care for finer automobiles has been a big part of the Mercedes sales surge. New models, including an SUV and compact cars have fueled much of the growth as consumers flock from traditional American and European brands to Mercedes. Mercedes’ legendary quality is an important attraction as their line of diesel powered vehicles typically last for several hundred thousand miles. Indeed, it isn’t unheard of for diesel Mercedes owners to brag about their cars having passed the 500,000 mile mark.

Mercedes attributes much of their success to the design and craftsmanship put into every car. The company is very careful whom they choose to produce OEM parts relying on trusted names such as Bosch, Hengst, Mann, ACM, Conti, and others to outfit their vehicles. Expensive parts, mind you, but well worth it...you drive a Mercedes!

Of course, if you are like many Mercedes aficionados who enjoy working on their own vehicles, you are in good company. In times past, buying OEM parts meant an expensive trip to your dealer’s parts department or a disappointing visit to your local parts store. Disappointing, as you soon discovered that the only German parts available were for Volkswagens.

Today, your choices have expanded immensely due to the rise of online auto wholesalers such as the Auto Parts Warehouse, who specialize in carrying Mercedes Benz parts. Consumers today are turning on their computers, surfing the ‘net, and finding suppliers who have the parts they need and can ship these parts directly to them. With no middle man mark ups, many of the quality wholesalers are able to supply Mercedes Benz parts at prices well below the prevailing retail rates.

Yes, you have a truly fine and capable vehicle in your Mercedes. You can keep your “Benz” running great and looking its best with genuine OEM parts. Shop around and head down the road to real savings today!

Travel for free to over 80 locations

Marketers should consider employment status when allocating resources for targeting consumers. Full time employees make as many daily contacts as part time employees and stay-at-homers combined! A consumer package goods manufacturer might consider sampling its products in or near their targeted consumers' workplace rather than, or in addition to, traditional in-home sampling. For purposes of the study, "contact" was defined as "any type of direct communication a person has with another person including spoken to in-person, by phone, or written via email, or instant/text message." Stay-at-homers tend to make more daily visits to chat rooms, message boards, free email services, forums, and any information station they can easily find. Including web site addresses and promotion codes in marketing efforts, making it easy to pass this information along online, is a tactic that works well with this group of people provided there is perceived value. Marketers often use household income of $75,000 as an affluence threshold but there was no apparent increase in word of mouth or (WOM) activity for people with incomes from $75,000 to $90,000. The results showed acceleration in WOM likelihood for households earning $100,000 or more. As expected, technology has a significant influence on how different generations foster WOM. Here's a glimpse into the future, as well as today. Younger generations are creating personal online media to a greater extent, with nearly half (49%) of Gen Y having built a website and one quarter having their own blog. When reaching out to their peers, one-quarter visit chat rooms or message boards daily and 17% of their contact activity is done through instant or text messaging. Gen X and Boomers tend to use email more often and are more likely to spread positive WOM. These groups are ripe for viral email campaigns. An overlooked and interesting area for marketers is reaching Silver Birds through message boards and chat rooms. They have more activity in those areas than Boomers and nearly equal activity to Gen X. This is likely due to their desire to reconnect with family and friends, and to discuss health, medical, and other issues of aging with peers and professionals. At this time of their life they tend to go on cruises, flights, and lots

of different locations all over the world, since most of them worked all their life and now have the time and most have the cash to do these types of travel.

Duty-Free Travel Information

The European Union, Iceland, Norway, Japan, Singapore, Australia and other countries have implemented new regulations regarding liquids in carry on bags. As a result, there are potential implications for passengers who purchase liquid duty-free items (e. g. perfume and liquor) while traveling to and from international destinations. Because many duty-free shops in other countries are located before the security checkpoint, all liquid duty-free items purchased in those airports will be placed in special sealed tamper-evident bags in order to be permitted through those countries’ security checkpoints. The tamper-evident bag is not currently accepted through U. S. checkpoints. To avoid the risk of having to abandon your liquid duty free items in the U. S. and abroad, please follow the guidelines below. Please note: these security measures only apply to liquid, gel, and aerosol duty free items. For passengers traveling to an international destination from the United States: Duty-free purchases of liquids of any size from shops in the US are permitted if you have a nonstop flight to an international destination. If you have a connecting flight in Europe, Japan or another international destination, US duty-free liquid purchases in containers larger than three ounces will not be permitted through security checkpoints because they will not be in the an approved tamper-evident bag.

Note: If you purchase a liquid duty-free item in the US you will not be able to get a tamper evident bag for it before going through international checkpoints. For passengers returning to the United States from an international destination: On nonstop flights bound for the US, duty free liquids purchased at an international airport will only be permitted it they are delivered to the aircraft for passenger pickup, bought on the plane or purchased after the security checkpoint. If you are flying to the US and have a connecting flight, duty-free liquids that meet US requirements will NOT be permitted through US security checkpoints. If you have a connecting flight, liquid duty free purchases must be placed in your checked baggage. Since you will be required to reclaim your checked bags prior to passing through customs inspection, you can place duty-free liquids into your bags and recheck them for your connection. This information will help you as you go from place to place around the world. Some countries will not allow any sort of sprays, fruits, nuts, or liquors so be aware of the laws of the land to which you are going to so you will be able to bring your purchase into that country. When traveling to an international destination with a connection, buy your duty-free liquid items on the last leg of your trip. In Europe, Japan and other countries that use the tamper-evident bag, passengers should not open the bag before the security checkpoint or else the duty free contents may be seized. When returning from an international destination on a connecting flight in the US, use your time in customs to place any duty-free liquid items in your checked bags. Here are a few guidelines for carry-on luggage dimensions. Please keep in mind that you should verify with the specific airline you are using for carry-on sizes and rules. U. S. - Most U. S. domestic, non commuter airlines dimensions are 22"x14"x9". Many allow a second smaller item as well such as a tote, cosmetic bag, briefcase, etc. International dimensions are 18"x14"x9". This is a recommended carry-on size and will very from airline to airline.

General Luggage Policies

Note that when maximum size measurements are shown as a total number of inches (e. g. 45") this is the total of the length, width and height of the piece. There are standard sets of dimensions that go to make up these totals (for example, 22 x 14 x 9 is the standard for 45") and if you have a bag that is an unusual shape but still within the total number of inches, you may find it being rejected. Many luggage stores sell suitcases described as 'carry-on', but these suitcases are sometimes larger than the size most airlines will accept. The safe maximum size is 45", in the form of a 22" x 14" x 9" bag. Some airlines allow up to as much as 55", but most do not. Not only do luggage stores and manufacturers not always tell you if their bag is legally sized or not, but they also frequently miss-measure their bag. Their measurements generally are for the inside of the main compartment, and assume that any external pockets are of zero thickness, rather than stuffed full of things (which can easily add another inch or more) and ignore any external framing such as wheels and carry handle (which can also add another couple of inches). If you should be very unlucky and find yourself forced to try and squeeze your carry-on into an unforgiving luggage template by the gate, even one extra inch - if your bag is already at the maximum - will be enough to mean it doesn't fit and you have to check the bag. So you get on board with your large but legal sized carry on item. However, what happens if there is no space remaining in any of the overhead bins, and you're forced to place it under the seat in front of you? Although your carry on item might be within the size guidelines issued by the airline, that does not guarantee it will fit under the seat in front of you! It seems that the space under the seat in front of you is getting smaller and smaller, particularly with some airlines (most notably on international flights) adding bulky electronic boxes under each seat to control the at-seat video entertainment systems, and with more closely spaced seats that are, themselves, thinner than before. Even if there isn't a blocking box, due to the design of the seat frame and supports, you'll find there might be the least amount of space under the aisle seat, a bit more space under the wing seat, and most space underneath the center seat. At last - something good to say about getting stuck in a middle seat! Even if, in theory, your bag could fit under the seat in front, you might find the geometry of the space and angles is such that you can't manage to fit the bag into the space. For many reasons - your own convenience, and courtesy to fellow passengers, you should focus more on bringing the smallest carry-on you truly need rather than the largest carry-on you think you need! All airlines place limits on the number, the size, and the weight of what you can carry on to a flight with you. Generally US domestic airlines are fairly liberal with these limits, and rarely choose to enforce them.

Traveler’s survey

In a June 04 survey of Travel Insider Newsletter readers, 80% of readers who admitted exceeding the official carry-on allowances said they did so with no problems. Of course, 'no problems' is a relative term, and if you're honestly abiding by the airline requirements and unable to fit your own smaller carry-on into an overhead bin due to the presence of massive outsized bags filling up all the space, you might have a different perspective on this! 94.5% of Travel Insider readers say they do not exceed carry-on limits. Personal Items such as a Briefcase, Camera, Handbag/Purse, Laptop (in carry bag), and other items not exceeding 36" in total dimension, Reading Matter, Small book-bag style backpack, and an Umbrella. In addition to generally allowing you to carry on one bag plus one personal item, many airlines may also allow you to carry on other items such as coats, hats and other 'outer clothing' items, 'assistive devices' such as crutches/canes and wheelchairs, diaper bags and approved child safety seats. Unlike checked luggage, where you can pay extra to carry heavier or bigger or more items, with carry on, there are no extra charges. If the airline enforces its carry-on rules, then your only option is to have the disallowed items checked. International flights often have much stricter carry-on policies, particularly with regard to the weight of carry-on bags. Although most domestic airlines have no limit on carry-on bag weight, internationally, you will find that some airlines set such ridiculously low carry-on weight limits (sometimes as little as 11 lbs) that the weight of an empty carry-on bag is more than the total weight you're allowed to take with you! You need to be aware of these rules, or else the next time you see someone desperately unpacking and repacking their luggage on the floor by the check in counter, that person might be you! International airlines may have smaller size limits on your carry on bags, too. If you want a bag that is always accepted on both domestic and international flights, you'll need to choose a size or two smaller than the maximum allowable domestic sizes. If your flight is on a really small plane, you might find that your luggage allowances for both checked and carry-on items are substantially reduced.

Can robotic lawnmowers save the world or at least you money

It is common knowledge that gas powered lawn mowers are serious environmental polluters. It is estimated that 1 hour of lawn mower use equals driving an SUV 100 miles. I have read that lawnmowers contribute up to 5% of the nation’s pollution. Even more alarming comparisons and statistics can be found on the internet.

Even if you are not an environmentalist, the price of gas will definitely make you a conservationist. Gas prices continue to climb. Personally, going to the gas station with my little gas can is not a trip of leisure, it has always been a chore.

Changing the oil, air filter, and regular maintenance is not what I consider an enjoyable event. John Deere charged me $129 one year to do all that, so it became a semi-annual day of bonding between me and ol’ JD.

We hired a lawn service for a year. He did a good job but his helpers made us uneasy. They seemed friendly whether they could speak English or not. One of the problems we had was we travel a good deal and we just didn’t feel comfortable having strangers running around our yard knowing we were gone. There are enough elements of risk out there without inviting it to our home.

One day on the internet I came across an article for automatic lawnmowers. We ordered it with a healthy serving of skepticism since our robotic vacuum cleaner needed to be replaced more often that our landscaper’s hired hands.

It has exceeded out expectations. So much so we decided to start selling them. They have proven to be very low maintenance and highly reliable. They do a pretty good job cutting the yard.

Technology has advanced where batteries can now power lawn mowers to do an effective job. They can mow, go back to the charger by them selves, and go back out again on a schedule without any help all season.

My wife and I can now travel freely without the worry of a self-inflicted burglary. We no longer have invited strangers running around our yard, yet we have a nicely cut lawn.

Maintenance? Once a year I change the blades. For those who live in the north the robotic lawn mower needs to be housed in the garage for the winter. Since it is all electric it doesn’t burn any gas or oil. That means no pollutants so we can all breathe easier.

Robotic lawn mowers are also very quiet. They are so quiet that they can be run at night while every one is asleep.

It costs about $7.00 a year in electricity to mow my yard. I used to spend more than that in one trip to fill up the gas container.

The biggest problem that we have is with our neighbors. My goodness they love to come out and watch it work. For me the excitement has long gone and I consider it no more of a novelty than the dishwasher. But for some reason our little robotic lawn mower continues to be the neighborhood star attraction day after day.

Robotic lawn mowers aren’t going to put John Deere or the local landscaper out of business anytime soon, but one day the do-it-yourselfers are going to be the ones that will be the neighborhood oddity.

Opportunity or scam four internet business opportunity danger signs

While there are many genuine and legitimate opportunities offering to set people up in their own home based internet business on the internet, it can be difficult to separate them from the ones that only want to take your money. That’s why it is important for you to be aware of some clues hidden within the offers which can mean the difference between finding a legitimate business to operate and ending up helping someone else make money while you lose your shirt.

Typically, there are four danger signs that need to be thoroughly checked out before you sign up to a business opportunity on the Internet. Understand that not all of the companies that make these claims are fraudulent, but these are four things that many scams have in common:

Firstly, you will be expected to pay a large entry fee before you can operate the business. Secondly, you will be told that you can get rich without any effort on your part. Thirdly, there will be no clear information about what you will be selling. Finally, there will be no clearly available contact information such as a genuine street address and telephone number.

Not every business that requests a set up or entrance fee is fraudulent but what you have to consider is the amount being demanded before you can qualify to start selling their product or service.

It should also be easy to understand what you will get in return for your investment in terms of products, services and training. Many a fraudulent company will list training as one of the perks, but often the training consists of nothing more than links to other sites where you are expected to learn about the company’s business model.

If the training focuses entirely on how to recruit others into the business in return for a commission instead of selling real products, the company’s operation may very well be a scam or certainly of questionable legality.

Ask anybody who has ever been involved in building a real business and you will be told that it takes effort. You have to work your business if you want it to succeed. That is no different for businesses that operate entirely on the Internet. But one of the most common pitches Internet scams make is the promise of easy money for little effort, no more than an hour or two a day or even a week. Sadly, however, there really is no such thing as a free lunch and anybody who tries to convince you otherwise is not being totally honest. Claims about how much some people have earned are usually accompanied by a disclaimer stating that the quoted figures are not necessarily typical of the potential earnings, which should beg the question about why the figure was quoted in the first place.

Many scam artists keep you in the dark about what their business offer is about until after you have spent your money and discover there is no way you can sell the business to others with a clear conscious. So, if you have been reading a business opportunity website for several minutes and still have no idea about what the product or service is, it could be that the offer is a scam. You should at least know what the product is, and how much it will cost, before you get any further involved with the business.

Check out the contact information. If the only way of contacting the company is via an email address that might be because they don’t intend to be around long enough to deal with your questions or complaints. Money back guarantees are worthless if there is no place you can go to claim your money back. Neither post office boxes nor email addresses can be relied upon if there is no other contact information available.

Finally, there are a couple of quick and easy things you can do to check out a company’s reputation. First, simply type the name of the company and the word “scam” into Google and check the results. Another place you can check out a company is on a business opportunities forum. Sign up to a forum and then start a thread asking about the company that concerns you. Remember, though, that just because a disgruntled person calls something a scam does not necessarily mean that it is. However, if there are a lot of complaints, and if the company charges a large entry fee, makes outlandish promises, offers no clear product information and posts no genuine contact information, then the chances that you have found a fraudulent operation are quite high. Don’t sign up to their offer and certainly don’t give them any of your money.

How to bring money to a foreign country

Traveler's Checks

It is wise not to carry large amounts of cash. You should take most of your money in traveler's checks and remember to record the serial number, denomination and the date and location of the issuing bank or agency. Keep this information in a safe and separate place so, if you lose your traveler's checks, you can quickly get replacements.

Exchanging traveler’s checks at your hotel will cost you. Do this only as a last resort as the exchange rate will be the worst in the country. It is better to walk to a nearby bank or currency exchange to cash your traveler’s checks.

If your financial institution charges a fee for traveler’s checks, tell them “No thanks”. It is easier to use a debit card at an ATM machine. Use traveler’s checks as a back up currency.

Credit & Debit Cards

Most credit cards can be used worldwide, even for cash advances. Keep track of your credit card purchases so that you do not exceed your limit. Travelers have been arrested overseas for mistakenly exceeding their credit limit! Leave all unnecessary credit cards at home. Record the numbers of the credit cards that you do bring, and keep the list separately from the cards.

You should immediately report the loss or theft of your credit cards or traveler's checks to the credit card companies and to the local police. If you plan to stay in one place for some time, you might consider opening an account for check cashing and other transactions at a U. S. bank that has an overseas affiliate. U. S. embassies and consulates cannot cash checks for you.

Before leaving on your trip, you may wish to check with your bank to see if the country or countries that you plan to visit have Automated Teller Machine (ATM) service. The bank should be able to tell you if you can use your ATM card during your trip abroad.

Using an ATM with a DEBIT card is a smarter alternative to using a CREDIT card. Credit cards can be skimmed at the most expensive hotels, restaurants and stores.

Ensure that you secure your credit and debit cards in your hotel safe if you are going out and will not be using them. Only carry an amount of cash that you can afford to lose. And don’t forget to inform your bank that you will be using your plastic in a foreign country.

Prepare for Emergency Funds

It is a good idea to keep the telephone number for your bank in the United States with you, in case you run out of cash and need to transfer money. In some countries, major banks and certain travel agencies can help arrange a transfer of funds from your account to a foreign bank. If you do not have a bank account from which you can obtain emergency funds, you should make arrangements in advance with a relative or friend to send you emergency funds should it become necessary. If you find yourself destitute, contact the nearest U. S. embassy or consulate for assistance in arranging a money wire transfer from a relative or friend in the United States.

Foreign Currency

Before departing, you may wish to purchase small amounts of foreign currency to use for buses, taxis, phones, or tips when you first arrive. Foreign exchange facilities at airports may be closed when your flight arrives. You can purchase foreign currency at some U. S. banks, at foreign exchange firms, at foreign exchange windows, or even at vending machines in many international airports in the United States. Don’t exchange much currency as it is fairly easy to exchange currency at the arriving airport or accessing an ATM at the airport.

Some countries regulate the amount of local currency that you can bring into or take out of the country; others require that you exchange a minimum amount of currency. For currency regulations, check with a bank, a foreign exchange firm, your travel agent, or the embassy or consulate of the countries that you plan to visit.

If you leave or enter the United States with more than $10,000 in monetary instruments of any kind, you must file a report, Customs Form 4790, with U. S. Customs at the time. Failure to comply can result in civil and criminal proceedings.

Beer - the new natural menopause treatment

Whilst it may seem far fetched to think of beer as a natural menopause treatment, there is actually credible scientific research to support it. The key feature of beer in relation to menopause is the presence of phytoestrogens.

Phytoestrogens are estrogen-like plant compounds that are also in alternative menopause treatments like soy. They work by binding to estrogen receptors, and so provide a mild estrogenic effect on the body. Phytoestrogens are not as strong as regular estrogen, but as estrogen levels decline in menopausal women, this boost of estrogen has a balancing effect on the body. Supplementing with phytoestrogens in soy and hops (which is made into beer, but can be purchased as a supplement), can alleviate hot flushes and improve the general quality of life for women during menopause.

Hops has more typically been used by herbalists for its mild sedative effect. It's great for sleeping problems, and also for nervous gastrointestinal and stomach problems. It is stimulating to the stomach, and has been used for anorexia, irritable bowel disease, inflammatory bowel disease, dysmenorrhoea and amenorrhoea.

Hops has long been suspected of having an effect on the hormonal system. Before the advent of machine pickers, women and girls picked the plants at harvest, and would often spend 3 weeks doing so. It was observed amongst the young girls picking hops that their menstrual periods would come on early. But it wasn't until hops was studied scientifically that this result was explained and validated. It turns out that hops contains very high levels of phytoestrogens - between 30,000 IU to 300,000 IU per 100 grams. The levels of phytoestrogens are highest when the plant is fresh.

The phytoestrogen in hops is called 8-prenylnaringenin (8PN), and is stronger than other estrogens studied so far. It is present in beer, but levels are low compared to levels in plant extracts.

8-prenylnaringenin (8PN) is a flavone. It has been found in the animal model to have milder but similar effects to estradiol. The hops flavone also had a stimulating effect on the uterus in this study (on animals). It has not been established if this effect is also present in women taking hops. If so, progestins, or natural progesterone, would need to be taken at the same time to prevent overstimulation of the endometrial tissue.

Czech scientists have developed this research by using a new technology to create a non-alcoholic beer that contains the same amounts of hops and malt as regular beer. No mention was made at this stage as to whether the menopause beer would have higher levels of phytoestrogens. The idea came about because the Czech Republic is a strong beer drinking nation, and menopausal women there had low levels of estrogen in their diet. The menopause beer is aimed at relieving the symptoms of menopause and improving bone density.

Scientists have also found hops to have an anti-inflammatory effect. Compounds in hops have an effect similar to regular pain killers like ibuprofen, but with less of a disturbing impact on the gastrointestinal system. These active constituents of hops work in the same way as the arthritis drugs vioxx and celebrex, in that they are COX-2 inhibitors.

Hops is also an antioxidant, it may reduce insulin resistance, and is being investigated for its potential anti tumor properties. Hops was found to inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells 'in vitro', or in the lab, paving the way for further studies to be done. Hops should not be taken by people with depression however, according to traditional herbalists.

How to turn your computer into a virtual casino

It's astonishing to me at how quickly the world has changed.

When I was growing up -- and it wasn't that long ago -- if I wanted to have any sort of gambling excitement, I'd have to go and take a trip to either Las Vegas or Atlantic City. (Okay, there was also a weekly poker game in my Uncle Frank's basement but I didn't like to go there because he always cheated.)

Now, part of what I loved about going to an actual casino was that they had the one game there that I actually did fairly well at -- roulette.

Unfortunately, there just weren't many places where I could actually play roulette. It's one thing to invite some friends over for a friendly game of poker but it's something else to pick up the phone and go, "Hey, guys, how about coming over and playing roulette at my place?"

You'd be surprised at how many people don't really want to take you up on an offer like that.

Now, don't get me wrong -- I love poker and blackjack and even playing the slot machines. But for me, roulette was always something that I managed to do a decent job at winning. Granted, I didn't win big -- but I sure did better than when I sat down to play poker. (I'm not going to mention the time that I lost my Fiat Spyder to a full house.)

One day, I was mentioning this situation to a buddy of mine and he said,

"Why don’t you try playing online roulette?"

Now, I'm not exactly the most computer literate guy in the world -- and the thought of actually playing an online roulette game seemed a little weird to me. For one thing, I was afraid that I'd wind up with a crooked casino or something and the next thing I'd know, there'd be a couple of guys at the front door who wanted to repossess my house.

"It's not like that," he said. "There are places that are totally legit -- and where you can actually make some pretty good money."

And that's when he told me about a site that explained all about online roulette and which also provided an eBook at no charge to the people who visited the webpage. Naturally, that set off alarms in my head. I'm one of those guys who has learned that there's no such thing as a free lunch -- and some of the things out there that are "free" have cost me more than I'd like to recall.

But there's something that I learned a long time ago from my father. Whenever an opportunity would come along, he'd always check it out. He might not have bought into it but he always went to see what it was about. I asked him why he would do that and he said, "I'd hate to think that I'd let the chance of a lifetime slip by just because I was too lazy to look into it."

So I went to the website and to my surprise, it was on the level. I checked it out and there was information that was useful to the beginning player (as well as the advanced player) and I didn't even get the slightest whiff of something being amiss.

But does anyone really play those online roulette games?

The answer is a resounding YES! In doing my research, I found out that some of the online sites have a steady stream of customers -- and some of them are constantly paying out to players in the know.

In fact, the website that I went to had an offer for an eBook -- and they didn't want anyone to pay until they had tried the book out. Right there, I tried to figure out what the catch was -- and I found out there wasn't a catch. It was one of those places that was just convinced that they had a useful product and that people would pay money once they saw that it worked.

The site I'm talking about is RouletteMadeEasy. com.

So, after checking out some of the websites and after looking through the book, I decided that I'd go ahead and give it a whirl -- and to my amazement, I actually started to make money. At first, it was only a little bit but before I knew it, I was actually making some real money.

The amazing thing is that when I showed my friends the system and they tried it, they discovered that I wasn't exaggerating about the amount of money that they could make. In fact, one of my buddies from the auto repair shop has earned enough money from online roulette to actually pay off his house.

Is everyone going to make that kind of money? Probably not -- but one thing that I've learned is that by playing sensibly and by using some of the systems that are available online, just about anyone can walk away from the table a winner.

I don't know about you but I sure like those odds.

Steel yourself with a stun gun

There is no shortage of danger out there in today's world. Whether you live in small-town America or the big bad city, crime seems like a permanent fixture in society. It's no wonder, then, that tools of self-defense have become one of fastest-growing items on people's shopping lists. And at the top of the list, for both everyday civilians and even cops, are stun guns.

Stun guns work by zapping an attacker with a high electrical voltage. Usually, the "gun" is more of a wand, something you wield in your hand, which has two metal prongs at the end. The charge emanates from these prongs, so you'll want to touch the bad guy with those. Then zap! watch as the stun gun immobilizes him or her.

No worries, though, on whether or not you severely harmed the attacker. Stun guns are designed to incapacitate somebody, not to kill them, so the charge that they put out has more bark than bite. Stun guns have just the right amount of bark to do the trick.

They work by completely discombobulating a person's nervous system. As you probably learned in high school biology class, the human nervous system includes our brain, spinal cord, and nerves, and it works by passing along electrical signals from the brain to all parts of our body. It's what helps us to speak and see, and our nervous system allows us to move our muscles at will, as well as involuntarily.

The stun gun stops all that. The energy pulse causes a person's muscles to go practically haywire, contracting at a very high movement rate. All of this muscle activity causes the muscles to put out lactic acid. Remember the last workout or jog you had, when your muscles started to burn? That was lactic acid, which makes it hard for your muscles to do anymore work.

The electricity from the stun gun also causes a "blackout" in the whole nervous system, so the messages between the brain, spinal cord, and nerves get interrupted. The total end result from the stun gun is a person who can't move their muscles, who loses their balance and their bearing, and remains 'out of it' and harmless for several minutes afterward.

Of course, like anything else, the stun gun has a different effect depending on the person it is used on. Some people may go down like a sack of potatoes after only a second of touching the stun gun, while another attacker my need five seconds of exposure to the stun gun to be incapacitated. There is a direct relationship between the time a person is exposed to the stun gun, and the effects of the stun gun. In other words, the longer you hold the stun gun to someone, the more debilitated they become. Once a person is down, and you cease and desist with the weapon, the effects will eventually wear off.

Unlike other forms of electricity, the stun gun's power cannot be passed by touching the person being hit, or by standing in a puddle with them. That is good news for you.

When buying a stun gun, you should consider its voltage and size. Of course, if you're carrying the stun gun in a small purse, you'll need a small stun gun. But try to buy the highest voltage stun gun possible.

Is your air filter filthy

Having your air filter changed at your local garage shop or mechanic could actually cost you so much more than what it would cost you if you did everything yourself. The truth is, changing air filters is easy as counting “1-2-3”. And yes, you would be saving yourself some extra dollars.

Of course, you would have to check your car’s air filter first. You would have to see if you do need to change it or if the air filter still could do its job properly. To check your air filter, make sure first that your car’s engine is cool. You would not want to go checking underneath your car’s hood with a still steaming engine underneath. Pop up the hood. Do not forget to prop it up. Then, make sure that you do have the needed materials at hand. For this activity, you would be needing two medium-sized screwdrivers. There should be one standard screwdriver and one Phillips.

How do you find the air filter? Well, the air filter is generally enclosed in a black plastic casing. This plastic casing is located near the center top of the engine. Automobile experts would describe finding the air filter as trying to locate the largest non-metal assembly under the hood. It would be around the size of a breadbox.

When you have already found it, the next part would be opening it. For this part, you would be needing the screwdriver for this box is actually held together by a couple of large metal clips on the side. Simply slide the flat-dead screwdriver between the casing and the clip. Just pry the casing open and you would be able to open it. However, there are some that really have some screws that hold the box together. If this is the case, then unscrew them first.

Once opened, you will find the air filter inside. It comes with the colors bright yellow, orange, or red. Pull the air filter out. You would see that it is flat, elongated, and would measure about a foot long by six inches wide and would have a height of around two inches. It has been crafted from paper filament and has rubber edges along the bottom.

Hold the air filter up and bend it back. Look inside the crevices. Hold it at arms length and look at it. If you see a lot of accumulated dirt and grime, especially mostly in the center of the air filter, it is then time to change it.

Replacement for your air filter could be easily found at Land Rover Parts and Range Rover Parts. They offer other auto parts for Land Rover vehicles like electrical engine parts. Aside from offering quality products, Land Rover Parts and Range Rover Parts also has a great customer service to assist patrons in their various auto parts needs.

Craps tournaments winning tips and guidance

Craps tournaments popularity is increasing lately. If you are a novice craps player who is still intimidated by the great selection of bets or you find the fuss around the craps tables too loud, you might not be able to enjoy playing craps tournaments. If you are an enthusiastic craps shooter, taking part in a craps tournament is a great way to enjoy a more intensive craps playing experience, meet other craps fans and, of course, a chance to win bigger cash prizes as well as the desired title.

Many casinos hold different types of craps tournaments to suit the different levels of skills and budgets of the players. Here you can find tips on the different types of casino craps tournaments including tips on how to choose the most suitable and enjoyable craps tournament as possible. In addition, you can find here tips on how to win in craps tournament.

Choosing a Craps Tournament

Cost: The cost of playing in a craps tournament can range from a free entry and a low buy in to an expensive entry fee with a high buy in. The prizes, needless to say, are corresponding; the higher the entry fee the larger the grand prize. The free tournaments are usually held on a weekly basis for promotional purposes while the high stack tourneys are pre scheduled, last for more than one day and their expensive entry fees include a cocktail party, free accommodation and other freebies.

Competition: Evaluating the level of the competition you are going to face in advance can be tough. However, the number of entrants allowed to take part in the tournament can give you a basic indication on the level of the competition.

Rules: Casinos often set different rules in craps tournaments. For example, some casinos require players to place a pass or dont pass bet each play on top of any other bets or limit the proposition bet to 25 dollars.

Winning a Craps Tournament

The main difference between playing a traditional craps game and a craps tournament is that with the latter you suddenly find yourself surrounded by competitors. While in a regular craps game you are used to compete against the house, in a craps tournament you are playing against the other entrants and especially against those who have managed to accumulate the biggest amount of chips. Therefore, playing craps tournaments requires amending of you strategy. Primarily, you can no longer ignore your opponents; you must keep an eye on their moves!

Tips

Always pay attention to your opponent’s chips; bear in mind that they might have been hiding chips to confuse the other players.

Pay attention especially to your closest opponents; watch their moves and conclude your future bets so you will stay far behind.

Start by playing conservatively; place small bets on pass and come bets.

When an opportunity comes up, for example after making two consecutive points change your pattern and make dont pass bet.

If during the final rolls you are still not leading, it is time to play aggressively; place large even bet your entire bankroll on one number and then hope for the best.

Have fun.

Business class travel

Business persons and general travelers alike have to travel frequently to different parts of the world or within your own country. Many prefer to travel economy class to save expenses on airfare. You might in this case have to face the inconvenience of sitting cramped in small seats with very little leg space to move about. As an affluent business man or an executive on an important business mission, you may just get cramped, physically tired and mentally demoralized traveling in such inconvenience and may not therefore remain in the right frame of mind to execute your business transaction successfully. Inconvenience apart, your business stature cannot allow you travel economy class. The answer to this lies in traveling business class.

The seats in the economy class being cheaper usually remain overbooked, while quite a few of the costlier business class seats remain vacant for want of customers. As a result, flight companies offer certain attractive packages to lure customers to book for business class seats.

Business class is more comfortable than economy class due to ample leg space and greater maneuverability. The service and the cuisine in the business class seats are certainly better and more courteous. Again the package for business class seats takes better care of you in after-flight service. You are escorted form the airport and lodged in first class hotels commensurate with your business status. These packages may certainly be cheaper if you ask for the return ticket within a stipulated time.

If you are a frequent flier, you should stick to one airline for all of your travels. Once you are identified as a loyal and regular customer, you are offered higher rebates in your airfares and shown greater respect. That way you can sit relaxed in the business class seats, enjoy good and sumptuous meals, and be serviced more courteously. You can also do your homework or paperwork while traveling and have good nights’ sleep when your journey continues overnight.

Putting all your eggs into one basket with a debt consolidation loan

You’ve probably scoffed at the cheesy adverts on TV telling you how taking out a debt consolidation loan can give you financial freedom. However, if you do have debt, a consolidation loan could actually save you money.

So how does a debt consolidation loan work and how can it be beneficial to the millions of people who are paying high interest credit on credit cards, store cards, and bank overdrafts?

Basically, it is a loan where all your existing debts are lumped together and paid off, leaving you with just one debt and with just one monthly repayment.

Many people look to consolidate their debts as - if it is done properly - you are left with lower interest charges and lower monthly payments. This is because you are looking for a consolidation loan which will reduce the amount of interest you are currently being charged.

And by paying lower interest charges, you’ll also be saving money in the short term as well as having one manageable monthly outgoing as opposed to a myriad of monthly demands. Even this in itself can have a physiological benefit - looking at your bank account and seeing just one payment going out every month instead of a hotchpotch of debt, can give you a better perspective when dealing with your finances (and your budget).

To see if a debt consolidation loan could lower your monthly debt repayments, tot up all your existing debts (such as monies outstanding on your credit cards, overdraft, existing loans, store cards etc). Then also make a note of the total amount you need to repay every month to service these debts.

Get several quotes for a loan that would pay off all your credit and compare the monthly repayments against current monthly repayment. This will give you a good idea as to whether a debt consolidation loan could be right for your circumstances.

If you do decide to go ahead and take out a debt consolidation loan, however, be aware that while it can be the answer to your finance nightmares, if you blindly go ahead and consolidate your debts without firstly understanding how you got into debt in the first place, in the long term, you will find yourself in even more financial difficulty.

So, take a realistic look at how you got into debt (eg are you living beyond your means?) and use the exercise as a never-to-be-repeated-again learning experience. And, most importantly, if you are looking to consolidate your debts, you should realise that a consolidation loan does not clear your debt, it simply moves all debts into a simpler repayment vehicle and it is not an excuse to go out and blow the lot!

A world of presentations without powerpoint

Most of the presentations made nowadays are made with the help of PowerPoint. There are also class teachers and lecturers who use PowerPoint to make the teaching and learning process more interesting. However, it is the professional who makes presentations without the use of PowerPoint, while following some of their age-old beliefs for presentations.

Presentations without PowerPoint prove to be quite boring. This is because the presentation will be monotonous, with no music background or visual aids to help in the presentation. PowerPoint presentations usually provide a change for the audience in the presentation, and also give the crowd some visual explanations to the points that are being told in the presentation. So without PowerPoint in the presentation, it is very important that the presenter use some creativity in the presentation. This is because it is only this creativity that will keep the audience interested and motivated in the presentation!

The most important thing that has to be remembered to give a successful presentation without PowerPoint is to exactly know what you are talking about. If you are well versed with the matter you intend to present, you can very well present it without the help of PowerPoint. However, make sure to make your presentation only after learning about the temperament and nature of your audience. Remember that it is of no use talking to the audience as a group of employees. Instead, make it a point to tailor your presentation to meet the intellectual of the audience you are facing.

When beginning the presentation, you have to present it while keeping the end of the presentation in mind. You have to know what the purpose of your presentation is, as without PowerPoint you might lose the interest of the audience! Make sure you see, hear and feel what exactly it is that you want people to respond to in whatever it is that you say. Make a strong start to your presentation. Without PowerPoint, it is very much important that the first words and your appearance set the right tone for the audience to listen to you throughout the presentation. One of the best ways of making a connection with the audience without the help of PowerPoint is to tell a story, or an anecdote that has universal appeal.

One of the main things that has to be done when giving a presentation is to practice on the speech as much as possible. This is the only way of looking polished while speaking. It is indeed a false notion that using PowerPoint slides in a presentation will make a person a dynamic speaker. The process of becoming a dynamic speaker lies in the hand of the speaker. Only practice can make one a successful speaker, and this is one skill that cannot be delegated to anyone else. One of the best techniques to implement for practice is called bits. Here one practices a short piece of material over and over again till perfect. It is not that you practice it for word for word, one just has to talk one’s way through the presentation! In this way, one can easily continue a presentation, even if there is a distraction while onstage.

If PowerPoint is not used in a presentation, it is important that props be used instead. This is because a prop is basically worth a thousand words. With props, people tend to anchor thoughts in their minds to these props. It is no difference if the prop is large, small, funny or serious, as long as it relates to the point that you are trying to make and that the audience sees it! Another way of making sure that the audience loves you despite the fact that you don’t use PowerPoint in your presentation is to bring solutions to the problems they have. With your research of the audience, you would already have an idea to what their problems are; it is only up to you to bring new ideas to them to try.

Remember that when you are not using PowerPoint, you are the visual aid of the presentation. People will then gain more interest in whatever it is that you say, instead of visuals or fancy slides or overheads. So basically, without PowerPoint, it is important that the speaker be more self-confident and well versed in his speech. Without this, it may be quite impossible to imagine giving a presentation without PowerPoint!
