Choosing the right sports gear and apparel

As Reese Witherspoon’s character in Legally Blonde says “Endorphins make you happy.” This statement propelled a lot of people to get into sports because aside from exercise sports also produce endorphins. In this increasingly cynic world, we all need a dose of endorphins to keep us in within a positive perspective.

There are so many sports to choose from so there is no excuse to get into sports. The perpetual I can’t can be eradicated when you are staring at hundreds of sports up for bid. The key here is to try and try until you find that one perfect sport that you will be so passionate about. In the end, more than the endorphins that will make you happy you will thank your chosen sport for an overall better life.

It all starts with trying out a sport. You can try it alone or drag along a few willing friends to make it more fun. If it does not work the first time then try it for one more time, if it still doesn’t give you the kind of passion you want to feel then move to another sport. If club hopping ahs become such a phenomenon then why not sports hopping. Eventually there will be that one sport that no matter how sore your body feels can still leave you wanting for more. When you have done hat, it is time to look for the right sports gear and sports apparel.

Just like in business, you have to suit up for when you got to the local gym or the health club. So look around and observe what the other people are wearing. If you like what you see and want to be safe then buy exactly the same set but try to accentuate it with your own touch by choosing more vibrant colors for instance.

The most important thing is that you choose a comfortable sports apparel so it would be easier to do those winning moves. As for purchasing the right sports gears, you might have to check with your trainer or any person knowledgeable about the sport you want to pursue before making a purchase.

Sports gear affect a performance a lot so buy those that are right for your level anyway you can always advance in terms of capability and by then you can already spend more gears because of more intricate technologies needed.

Mlb tickets in the nl east - it s the mets and everyone else

Although there was a swap of positions in the middle of the division standings over the past few weeks, MLB tickets are only relevant for the rest of the 2006 season in one or possibly two cities. The Mets are just a game or two away from clinching the division, and we’ll examine their postseason prospects. The Phillies also remain somewhat alive, so we’ll examine them and the outlook for 2007 for everyone else.

New York Mets

Currently:

The Mets have basically won the division on the heels of a tremendous season by Carlos Beltran and decent pitching. Not to take anything away from them, but this is a relatively weak division as well, and the Mets have feasted on their lack of competition. This is a veteran team that knows how to close out a race, and that’s exactly what they’re doing as of this writing.

Outlook:

The Mets are getting Pedro Martinez back just in time, and he along with Tom Glavine need to be strong in the postseason. Beltran also needs to maintain his high level of play, or else the Mets will struggle. As it is, they’re as good a bet as anyone to get to the World Series.

Philadelphia Phillies

Currently:

It’s been a strange season for the Phillies, as they appeared to give up on the season only to surge into contention for the Wild Card spot. They’re still barely hanging on in the chase, but they need to turn it on now, as they’re running out of games to catch the Padres. The story of the season has been the emergence of Ryan Howard, and baseball fans everywhere want to root for a “clean” player as he puts up historic HR numbers.

Outlook:

The Phillies could possibly land in the postseason, but regardless, they need pitching and another bat in their lineup to take the next step.

Florida Marlins

Currently:

The Marlins took over third place in the division and moved over the .500 mark as of this writing with a 19-9 month. This is a team that’s slowly but surely getting better with another young nucleus that could challenge for big things in the coming season as these players mature. The Marlins have talent behind the plate and on the mound.

Outlook:

MLB tickets should be a hot item in South Florida in 2007, as the team looks to only get better as their young team puts another year of valuable experience behind them.

Atlanta Braves

Currently:

The Braves’ incredible postseason streak is ending this year, but what they’ve accomplished in recent times should not be overlooked. The 2006 season was ruined by injury and age, and the Braves have struggled to maintain any type of consistency.

Outlook:

The Braves always seem to be stocked with young talent, and they’ll need that next generation to come of age to contend in 2007, as Andruw and Chipper Jones aren’t getting any younger.

Washington Nationals

Currently:

The Nationals have been a bit of a disappointment this year after reaching the .500 mark in 2005. Their downfall was due to two things: bad pitching and no one besides Alfonso Soriano in the lineup that was a threat to produce runs.

Outlook:

The Nationals need another bat in the lineup and more pitching. If they get that done during the offseason, MLB tickets will again be a hot item in Washington, D. C.

What to know about golf lessons

No one ever said the game of golf was cheap! First, there’s the clubs, then the clothes and, oh yeah.....how about the greens fees? Unless you’re Bill Gates, you’ll probably want to make sure the money you spend on your beloved game gives you the biggest bang for your buck. If you’re a new player, you’re going to need lessons too, which is an expensive and time - consuming activity.

First, you need to find a golf instructor. You should be as careful about finding the right instructor as you would be about finding a therapist. Going to the wrong instructor will slow down your learning and dampen your enthusiasm. You need the best possible fit. Some instructors are more expensive than others. They may have more experience, more awards, or they may teach at a more upscale facility. But like anything else in life, you can find great instructors at a reasonable cost. So decide how much you’re willing to pay, and stick to that price to avoid temptation.

For a good golf instructor to be effective in improving your game, he needs only one thing. You have to practice what your instructor is preaching to get the very best out of his advice. The better player you wish to become, the more work you’ll have to do. This isn’t a race and it will take some time to get where you want to be. You can get there with a strong sense of commitment and a good sense of humor.

You’ll also need to decide whether you want private instruction or golf school. While golf schools can provide shorter, more intense instruction periods, they can overload you with too much information and not enough hands-on help. Private lessons use a building-block approach, but can take many months to complete. The best way to decide is word-of-mouth. Ask people for recommendations and you’ll probably end up with a nice short list of instructors and facilities to choose from, as well as which ones to avoid. Once you decide who you like, don’t be shy about interviewing him about his background and experience to be sure his winning philosophy matches your goals. Once you get comfortable with your instructor and your training schedule, there’s only one more thing you have to do - have fun. To find out further information about golf instruction or to find out wear to purchase the latest in golf gear, log onto the Internet today.

Soccer shoes i thought they were cleats

The name of the footwear used for playing soccer is commonly referred to as cleats, or in Europe, boots. However, if you are speaking of indoor soccer, it is quite proper to refer to your cleats as shoes, especially since they don't actually have the spikes usually associated with cleats.

Indoor soccer shoes should have a non-marking rubber sole, meaning even hard use on a gym floor or other surface will not leave it worse for the wear. Many players who frequent both grassy and indoor fields refer to their indoor shoes as flats, and their traditional grass field shoes as cleats. Flat soccer shoes are also appropriate on dry artificial surfaces, even when outdoors.

Before we consider the different types of uppers available on soccer shoes, a brief explanation of what is meant by the term upper will help you in your decision process. Quite easily put, the upper is that section of the shoe which will come in constant contact with ball. Uppers can be comprised of an assortment of natural leathers and synthetic blends of leathers.

You can realize the best 'feel' or touch on the ball with the most expensive leather, which is Kangaroo, however, along with the high price, there are a couple of other downfalls to consider. Soccer shoes made with Kangaroo leather uppers will not last very long, and along with the sacrifice for durability, they will also require a treatment, or special coating, to help prevent water retention. That being said, though, virtually anyone who has played in Kangaroo leather will tell you it is the softest, most lightweight boot you will ever own, and the cost and other sacrifices are well worth the price for the tremendous touch on the ball.

Next in cost comes Pittards leather, which is currently only available from Puma in soccer shoes. This is a specially treated calfskin leather, which goes through a patented process to gain a water-resistant quality, also causing it to dry faster. These boots will maintain their softness longer than untreated calfskin, and also stretch less, therefore affording the player a truer fit for a longer period. These boots are not as expensive as Kangaroo leather, and do offer many fine qualities the Kangaroos lack.

Calfskin leather is the old stand by choice for soccer shoe uppers, for good reasons. It is the least expensive of the natural leathers, and yet offers great durability, and much less stretching than the Kangaroo. You do sacrifice some of the intricate touch on the ball that is so beautiful with the Kangaroo, since the calfskin uppers are heavier, however, for a beginning to mid-range player these should see the season out with no complaints.

Whatever type of shoe you ultimately choose, good fit is of the prime importance. Go to a sports store, with knowledgeable associates to assist you in choosing the correct style and size. Having your soccer socks with you for the fitting will prove invaluable. The boots need to fit closely in the heel and the toe, and do bear in mind that good leather shoes will stretch a bit. As a coach, I always advised my players to wear their new boots around the house the week before using them in a match. This enables a bit of the breaking in to begin, prior to the tough use they will see on the field.

The last shoe every player should own is a good pair of soccer sandals. These rubber slides often offer a bit of nubbing on the insole, a great cooling comfort to weary feet.

Women s golf clubs

Golf used to be considered the "gentlemen's game". But everyone knows as many women grace the greens as their male counterparts. Many golf clubs have as many women or more women members. There are women-only tournaments and mixed contests. The popularity of the sport transcends gender, and women flock to the course, every bit as thirsty for pars and birdies as the men are.

As more women began to take up the sport of golf, manufacturers realized that there was an increasing demand for specialized equipment. Women golfers know that playing to their full potential just isn't possible when they settle for using men's equipment. Of course, there is now a huge selection of specialized apparel, footwear, accessories and women's golf clubs on the market today.

Women's golf clubs are lightweight, easy to control and set at the proper lengths to match all body types, personal tastes and skill levels.

For example, many women's woods come with variable length lines, allowing all women to accurately shoot, regardless of her person hit. Also, some woods will have the target user's height displayed. If a woman's wood doesn't' show its height requirements, it is assumed suitable for women between 5'5" and 5'9".

Having a selection of flexible woods is crucial, as many women prefer to use woods more often than irons, even on the fairway. Compared to irons, woods offer bigger hitting areas, or "sweet spots". Fairway woods are designed so the bottoms glide over the surface of the ground without friction. Further, the length of these woods is usually greater than the length of comparable irons. In this case, a 4-wood is longer compared to a 6-iron. For these reasons, women often find that woods are easier to shoot with, more likely to launch the ball, and get better distance than irons do.

Specialized clubs are also available for the short game. The golf clubs should feel light, short enough to allow you to get right under the ball, and just feel right when you swing. An 8- and 9-iron or pitching wedge can be handy when a short approach requires precision rather than distance. Once the ball is on the green, it's time to pull out the putter. Women shorter than 5'5" should choose a putter that's less than 33" in length. Taller women should try different lengths until finding just the right putter.

Women who love to golf shouldn't compromise their comfort or performance by settling for men's clubs. Specialized women's golf clubs can make all the difference, and turn a good game into a great one.

What a black belt means to me - the journey

It’s often said in Martial Arts that the meaning doesn’t lie in how good you are or what belt you have, rather the meaning lies in the journey. Before I get into “What Black Belt Means To Me”, I would like to talk about my journey of these past few months.

The Journey

Last week I had flown to Nashville to test for my long awaited San Dan (3rd degree Black Belt - This is kind of like becoming an official “Teacher”). Prior to the test I had been training consistently since April of this year at a friends dojo and my local gym.

It had been about 5 years since I’ve last practiced my discipline, Wado-Ryu Karate-Do, so my recollection of the system was very vague. After watching numerous tapes of myself as a young martial artist, I had re-learned my under belt curriculum, however I was struggling to remember my black belt curriculum. If you know anything about martial arts, one’s under belt knowledge is essential because it is considered as the foundation of one’s training. On the other hand, a lot of people believe that your training truly begins when you achieve your first black belt. I couldn’t agree more. When I was promoted to Sho Dan (1st Degree Black Belt) my interpretation about Wado-Ryu and the martial arts had grown dramatically and I began to really learn.

Either way, I needed to know everything that could have possibly been thrown at me because it had been 10 years since my last official test.

In July, I went to Nashville to train with my highly recognized and beloved instructor Sensei Wayne Tyler. I consider him as a father figure in my martial arts career because of his vast knowledge of Wado-Ryu and unconditional love for his students and the art. Imagine being a scientist and your teacher was Albert Einstein – that is what it feels like to be under the wing of Sensei Tyler (or Mr. Tyler, as I call him). I was in Nashville training with Sensei 2 – 3 hours per day for 5 days. I caught up on my curriculum and took the extra knowledge that was passed down by him and applied it to my training back in Denver.

Again, since I didn’t know what to expect, I conditioned myself to be ready for almost anything. Not only was I practicing my basics and katas (Japanese forms), but I was also running 2 miles, three days per week, 15 – 20 minutes on the rowing machine and about 6 – 7 miles on the stationary bike. I don’t think I could have been more prepared for this test.

I successfully passed my test and was promoted to San Dan on October 17th 2006. I must say, this was one of my greatest accomplishments in my martial arts career and a dream come true. It has taken me several years to reach this goal, but it has reinforced my interpretation of being a black belt, or in my case – San Dan.

Can bodybuilding supplements perform the muscle miracle

If you Google "bodybuilding supplements" you will see the search returns almost 10.5 million results. It shows how much importance people are giving to get muscle using bodybuilding supplements. The sheer volume of these products is overwhelming. Their popularity is very strong.

Do bodybuilding supplements work?

While many know that these products exist, they may not be aware of how these body building muscle supplement products work. Unfortunately, because these products are in such fierce competition with one another they have a tendency to employ a ton of over the top advertisement campaigns so as to stand out in the marketplace. Also a number of these ad campaigns leave the false impression. It is if there is a miracle out there that will maximize one’s ability to grow muscle.

The Truth About bodybuilding supplements

First, what must clearly be understood about these supplements is that no body building muscle supplement is a miracle product. There is no product that will magically burn fat and enhance muscle growth while eliminating the need for working out. Of course, there are a number of products that make these promises, but these products are less than honest and even less successful in terms of actually delivering what they promise.

Be Realistic

We need to be realistic about what to expect from body building supplements. They are not miracle products that will pack on 50 or 60lbs of muscle nor will they magically burn off 10 or 20lbs of fat. Body building supplements have their values.

These values and benefits are based on realistic nutrition and science and not over the top advertisements. Often, the advertisements and their claims act as substitutes for actual science and this is unfortunate.

Mass gainers and whey protein supplements

Most of the products that advertise as body building supplements fall into two categories. Either mass gainer or whey protein supplements.

What is a mass gainer?

A mass gainer is a drink that provides a massive amount of calories in liquid shake form so as to help someone who is having difficulty gaining weight the ability to gain weight without packing on fat.

Whey protein as a body supplement

Whey protein provides the body with quality protein so as to aid in the repair and growth of muscle after a solid exercise program.

Best bodybuilding tip.

The most important bodybuilding tip to follow is to avoid over training. Over training is working out too many times per work or working out for durations that are excessive. Excessive is anything longer than one hour straight in duration. Also, it is also unwise to work out if you feel sick or are seemingly suffering from an injury so as not to aggravate the injury.

Now, many would say, If you don’t work hard, you won’t make any gains. Well, this is partially true. One of the most critical of all body building tips, however, is that not only must one work hard one must also work smart!

Conclusion

There is no body building muscle supplement that can provide any miracles. So avoid looking for them. Instead, look for those products that provide an honest and sensible result. Ultimately if you stick with legitimate products you will achieve the results that you desire.

The button accordion

Accordions come in a variety of forms and styles. There are the diatonic accordions, the chromatic accordions, the piano accordions and the button accordion among others. The button accordion was adapted from the simpler melodeon in the nineteenth century.

It has one more row of buttons than the melodeon and its pitch is set a half a tone below or above the melodeon. It is also possible on the accordion to get two notes out of one button by maneuvering the bellows a certain way. This helps the player use less finger movement and allows for more expression when playing.

There are many types of accordions under the button family. The differences range from the keyboard structures, the tuning and the construction of the instruments. A well know variety is the Diatonic button accordion.

It comes with a melody sized keyboard and the keys are the notes of diatonic scales. This can be just one. The bass of the Diatonic button accordion almost always has the principal chords not excluding the root notes of those chords.

Diatonic button accordions are usually bisonoric. This means that for every button used there is two sounds that come out: one when the bellows condensed and the other when they are expanded.

It is possible to get varieties that are unisonoric, like the garmon, which plays the same note, no matter if the bellows are expanded or contracted. Other varieties are able to function both as bisonoric or unisonoric instruments.

Another notable button accordion is the chromatic. It has a melody sized keyboard with rows of buttons that are arranged chromatically according to pitch.

The bass of the keyboard is usually the Stradella system. This is a converter system or a free bass system. Under the chromatic button accordians you will find the Russian Bayan.

The chromatic button accordion is sometimes simply referred to as the chromatic accordion. This is not technically the correct term because other accordions, like the piano accordion are chromatic too.

The chromatic button accordion is a more popular accordion among performers because the treble keyboard of the instrument is more dense. This gives the player a wider range.

In various cultures today there has been a number of developments and adaptations made to the button accordions. In Russia for example you have such accords as the Saratovskaya, the Garmonica, the Livenka, the Bayan , the Garmon to name a few.

Deep sea fishing for cod in maine

Few anglers can resist the opportunity to fight and land a trophy fish, which is why deep sea fishing in Maine continues to be so popular throughout the fishing season. Though Maine’s many waterways are home to a considerable number of larger species, few compare to the cod which can be found just a few miles off the coast. With that in mind, thousands of anglers take to the seas between July and September on their own boats or chartered trips in search of that once in a lifetime catch. Whether you fish regularly, or are just a beginner looking for a challenge, deep sea fishing for cod provides the perfect answer.

Deep sea fishing is often referred to as ground fishing, whereby the aim is to fish close to the seabed. Species such as cod are bottom feeders, which mean that they scavenge for food along the seabed, and so ground fishing is the most productive technique to use. Cod will take a variety of baits, including artificial lures, baited feathers, sand eels, squid, mussels or crab. Other baits may also work depending on the mood of the fish and the food sources that are typically available in the area.

Like many other saltwater species, cod can typically be found near disturbances on the seabed. Rough ground, ledges, wrecks and other obstacles are all excellent places to find cod, and it is well worth seeking out these locations before you head out. It is possible to catch cod on clearer ground, though you are much more likely to come across the odd group rather than a constant supply of fish.

Deep sea fishing requires moderately heavy duty equipment, which you will be thankful for if you are lucky enough to end up with a forty pound cod on the end of your line. Many deep sea anglers recommend using a six to eight foot fifty pound class rod coupled with a similarly weighted line. Though the majority of your catches will be safely under this limit, you never quite know what is on the other end of your line.

Cod are an excellent starting point for those looking to try deep sea fishing. Their scavenging nature ensures that they will accept a wide range of bait, and with the odd fifty pound monster lurking off the coast of Maine, are far from a small catch. The added incentive of being an excellent meal make cod an attractive target for any would-be deep sea fisherman, and with so many chartered trips running throughout the fishing season, there is no excuse not to get out there and give it a try.

The most common reasons why people quit karate

"Hey. Wait a minute! I only just started Karate and now you’re talking to me about quitting already. What do you think I am – an undisciplined, unmotivated loser or what?”

OK, maybe you’re right, maybe I shouldn’t talk to you about quitting yet but I think there are some valuable lessons to be learned from the beginning about the different reasons why people quit karate. By knowing this you will know which pitfalls to avoid.

There are some common reasons for quitting karate that are often beyond our control such as lack of money, moving out of the area, illness or injury, change in family circumstances, the death of a loved one, and other unfortunate circumstances. Although all of these are valid reasons I will list in this short article the reasons that are within our control.

Here are some of the most common reasons in no particular order.

· Loss of interest

· Failure on a promotion test

· Disagreements with fellow members and/or instructor

· The curriculum is too hard or too easy

· Feeling like you’re not getting it

· Feeling intimidated and overwhelmed

· Not getting out of it what you want

· Conflict of values

· Karate is not what you thought it would be

· Negatively comparing yourself to others

· Worried about injury

· Lack of control shown by fellow members when sparring

As always there are many more reasons why people quit karate and the list could go on but above are some of the more common reasons. I would venture to say that many of these reasons are self-made and are fear-based. If you are looking to get started in the martial arts then you might want to take a moment for some honest introspection and ask yourself if you are likely to quit for any of the above reasons.

If you are, then it will be even more important that you do your research beforehand and find a school that matches your goals and your values. When you do this, you increase your commitment by the intensity of your preparation, and you help write an insurance policy on your success.

Remember, success comes from preparation, and this is certainly an important element in that preparation that sends a loud clear signal to your subconscious mind that you are out to do your very best in this endeavor.

My own instructor once told me, “Never be afraid of failure if you try your best”. If you follow this advice then quitting the martial arts probably won’t be a viable option, and as the old saying states so clearly, "Quitters never win, and winners never quit."

If you want some more tips on how to make a successful start in your karate practice then check out my FREE Report “Karate for Newcomers: How To Find Out Everything You Need to Know to Start Your Karate Practice”. You will find out how to download it at freekarateinformation. com.

Good luck and best wishes on your journey in karate.

My kung fu master is 200 years old

OK, if you’re reading my articles regularly, you know that I like learning new martial arts styles. Mostly I’ve focused on the Northern Chinese styles, the ones based around Wudang Mountain. I learned the classical Snake Style Kung Fu as a change up from jiu jutsu, and then learned a bit about the Southern (or “modern”) Snake Style that was created by Master Leung Tin Chu at the turn of the 20th century. Master Leung blended a lot of Shao Lin Kung Fu stances strikes with Wing Chun style fluid motions to create his Snake Style, and when I learned more about it, it got my curiosity piqued about Shao Lin style Kung Fu.

Like the northern styles, Shao Lin Kung Fu is a blend of philosophical techniques, and spiritualism with hard exercise meant to focus the mind and tone the body. Unlike the northern styles, Shao Lin practices focus a lot more on the physical nature of it. Not to the same extent that Tae Kwon Do or Karate do, mind, but much more so than the Wudang internal schools do.

Anyway, after learning about the Shao Lin influences, I had to go find a more “rigorous” source to see what was up. I found a dojo that I could visit as a student, and watched for a while, learning the differences in stances – Shao Lin stances are a lot more open and upright – there’s less of the “tiger crouch” in them, and more of a focus on using the arms and hands to block rather than redirect from what I’d learned. A lot of this is because the Shao Lin Kung Fu styles are built around the presumption of a weapon being in the practitioner’s hand, usually a staff, and that requires a more upright position than I was used to. After having come from jiu jutsu, it felt VERY weird having my center of gravity up so high, when going through the motions.

While there are leg braces and pull-me/push you maneuvers in Shao Lin styles, there are far less of them than there are in the Northern styles. There’s also less of a focus on defenses. Compared to the northern styles, the blocks are much more basic, and less fluid. Shao Lin Kung Fu, even more so than the Southern snake style, emphasizes a variety of punches, and upper body work.

One of the really interesting things about the school that I found, taught by Master Jung, was how limber he was. He seemed to be in his 60s or 70s, kind of stout, and thick around the middle. Yet there he was drilling guys twice his size and young enough to be his grand kids through throws, punches and forms. Hard to believe, I mean, yeah, martial arts movies always have The Old Master who sends the Young Pupil out to do things, but this was the first time I’d seen it in a commercial dojo. Jung looked like he was able to keep up the pace, and was very good at showing the different stances – Tiger Stance, Crane Stance, Snake Stance and Bear Stance are the ones that stuck out in my mind.

Unfortunately, his school was too far away for me to attend regularly – at least, not without breaking commitments to my own school, where I’m an assistant instructor. But still, what I learned there was pretty impressive. If you’re looking for a more action oriented style than traditional Kung Fu, or Wing Chun, Shao Lin schools are well worth looking into!

Cash master review - good or bad

I decided to write this Cash Master review after having a chance to see the software in action. Is it really possible to make more than $2,000 each week, tax free, gambling? How do you know that you’ll always see benefits, and not net losses? In this brief review, I seek to answer these questions and more in order to give you a comprehensive overview of what you can realistically expect (and not expect!) from using the product. From there, you can decide on your own if it’s something worth pursuing.

I love the idea of betting on horse racing, but I have no real knowledge of the sport. This is what I like most about Cash Master. You can bet, and win, on horse races while knowing next to nothing! The software truly does all of the work for you.

Still, I was skeptical that Cash Master could work in any significant way for me, considering I didn’t really have much of a bankroll to start my betting with. When I found out that with the software, you don’t need to bet huge amounts of money or place bets on many winning races to see enormous profits rolling your way, I was elated. With Cash Master, you can choose to start with a very small betting bank, and build it up at your own pace.

The software is reasonably priced (you can make up for the cost in just a couple of bets) and is very user friendly. I don’t have a lot of technical savvy, but Cash Master still worked for me. All you need to get started is a Microsoft Windows operating system. Everything is clearly explained in a step-by-step, easy to follow instruction manual.

The best thing about Cash Master is that it comes with a 100 percent money back guarantee. With a promise like that, what’s not to love? I highly recommend Cash Master to anyone who is looking to take their betting, and winning, to the next level.

Brett favre 1991 draft day pick

Brett Favre was born on October 10, 1969 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Standing at 6 foot 2 inches and weighing in at 220 pounds, it is easy to see why Favre is known as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. In addition to his perfect build, Favre also has one of the greatest minds that the game has ever seen. His smarts are what have allowed him to win at every level of football imaginable.

Favre played his high school ball at Hancock North Central. Although he played several sports, his first love was the game of football. His father was his coach in high school, and ironically enough Favre rarely threw the ball more than five times in any given game. This was due to the fact that his dad liked to run the ball out of a wishbone formation.

After high school Favre decided to take his game to Southern Mississippi as they were the only college to offer him a scholarship. Although the coaching staff wanted him to play on the defensive side of the ball, Favre convinced them to give him a try at quarterback. Despite starting the season as the seventh string quarterback, he took over as the starter in the second half of the third game of his freshman season. The rest is history as Favre dazzled the college football world for the rest of his time at the school.

In the 1991 NFL Draft the Atlanta Falcons picked Favre early in the second round. Favre only played one season with the Falcons, and was then traded to the Green Bay Packers during the off season.

Favre has had a great career with the Packers, and is still at it to this day. In 16 seasons in the NFL he has passed for 57,500 yards and 414 touchdowns. These stats are among the best that the league has ever seen, and probably will be for quite some time.

How to transfer your golf swing from the range to the course

I just shake my head when watching "machine gun golfers." They mindlessly bang out buckets of balls believing they are creating muscle memory. Perfect practice sessions include complete pre shot and post shot routines. Hence, you should only be able to hit, at the most, two balls per minute.

Many golfers still mistakenly believe that if they regularly practice newfound skills they will automatically transfer onto the course. LEARNING HOW TO SWING AND LEARNING HOW TO PLAY ARE TWO SEPARATE PROCESSES.

If there is a weakness I see in most teaching pros, they don’t spend enough lesson time on the issue of transference from the range to the course. The fact is, a golf instructor wirth his salt will take their student onto the course where real learning takes place.

Granted, this is a fairly sophisticated psychological concept, but the issue has to be covered about the strategies and tactics of bringing one's game onto the course. Good teachers always address this issue at the end of each lesson.

Pretend certain range shots are like those specific ones you will encounter during a round. It is true, "If you want to play like you practice, then practice like you want to play." Spend time reflecting on this maxim.

Before a round of golf and you are on the range and you have warmed up, hit the club you would normally hit on the first hole. Visualize the first hole and how it looks while you are on the range...the fairway, any trees or bunkers. Then go through your pre shot as if you are on the course. Pick out a spot on the range where you want the ball to end up.

This programs your subconscious to get into “scoring mode” rather than mindlessly beating balls and thinking you are ready for the course. After you hit your first shot, imagine what your second shot would be and then hit that shot.

If it is a chip onto the green, do that. By the time you reach the first hole you will feel like you have already played it and you will feel more confident.

The club you use to hit the last ball on the range should be the club you will use on the first hole. This will keep the shot fresh in your mind as you head for the first tee.

I recommend having a few extra balls in case your “last shot” is not a good one...you want to end your practice on a good note...this will add volumes to your confidence on the first tee. This is so incredibly powerful in getting you off to a good start that I cannot emphasize it enough.

You see, your preparation for your golf round is crucial in getting your mind set for achieving your potential out on the course. Watch the pros practice before a tournament...they are constantly practicing shots they expect to see on the course.

So if you're the kind of person who wants to break free from mindlessly banging balls on the range and finally achieve great results on the golf course, this proven method will set your golf game free!

Why should you go for a non-explosive airsoft grenade

This Is For Real

The realism of the popular Airsoft war games played by the big boys is catching on. Everything they use is so realistic – from the sounds of the guns to their protective gear. The game is played in a predetermined area where there is enough room for a war stage. In this game there are two teams vying for the most hits, and the capture of the flag.

Explosives may or may not be allowed, depending on the airsoft site; in the war games using explosives, the players use grenades that spit out pellets similar to real shrapnel. They also use flashbangs that emit loud sounds and very bright lights, to distract and disorient the enemy. A favorite device is the airsoft grenade.

Toxic Gas?

The non-explosive airsoft grenade spews paintballs, water, or pellets instead of producing deafening explosions. The first airsoft grenade had flaws with the ring pull fuses, and could not be thrown very far. It also used gas, which was toxic.

The advancements of the newer airsoft grenade include better ring pull fuses. These can be thrown much further. Players can now use the stick type grenades for more realism. In addition, the airsoft grenade uses less toxic smoke; this is a lot better than the naval rescue smoke grenade, which was not intended for inhalation.

The Safer Airsoft Grenade

The newer airsoft grenade is tougher and biodegradable. Instead of filling the grenades with paint balls, the new grenade is filled with dry peas. It also gives a painful sting with a direct hit, so it works just as fine as pellets-filled grenades.

The toy soldiers prefer the green smoke powered grenades because it provided good cover during an encounter. To reduce the toxicity of the green smoke, a cooling mechanism was incorporated into the airsoft grenade. This helps eliminate a higher percentage of toxic smoke. Still this should be a concern the frequency of exposure to the smoke.

There are safer alternatives to the smoke grenade. Players can use the airsoft grenade launchers. These are usually made of 100% metal. To use the launcher, a grenade shower of 18 or 120 round mock shells, or shell foam slug is attached to the unit. The newest airsoft grenade launcher is modeled after the M922A1, which is used to train gunners.

Have Safe Fun

Young boys can use the newer and safer airsoft grenade. This can be thrown further without the use of a grenade launcher. Adding an airsoft grenade and launcher to their arsenal, they can add variety to their war games, and have an edge over their opponents.

They can also use the airsoft grenade launchers like the M203 to rain pellets or fog the area with green gas. There are several versions of the grenade launchers; one model can spew 1,224 rounds of 6mm pellets with astonishing speeds, about 3 seconds.

Better Safe Than Sorry

Parents should be careful about giving their children airsoft grenade launchers and other war game toys. These look like the real thing, and can be used irresponsibly. If children are given the privilege to have these toys, they must be oriented on their proper use.

Players should follow precautions. They should never shoot at opponents without protective goggles; and instead of smoke grenades, they should go for pellet grenades to avoid the toxic fumes.

In this game, the target is to win, not to be sorry one day.
